Kind-hearted traffic warden leaves note for driver who couldn’t pay for ticket
April 27, 2019Traffic wardens get a bad rap, which is perhaps inevitable when a large part of your job is issuing penalty charge notices .
It's not their fault, they're just doing their job.
So here's a nice story that will hopefully make us appreciate them a little more.
A driver recently came back to her car to find a note from a traffic warden.
Lyd, had parked at Midsummer Meadow car park, Northampton but to her dismay, could only pay £1 for one ticket and 60p for the other after battling with the ticket machine.
In her desperation, she left a note explaining her dilemma: "I tried to pay for 2 hours but didn’t work so had to get 2 separate at same time.
"Pls don’t give me a ticket :(."
As she later approached her car, Lyd saw the dreaded yellow sticker stuck to the windscreen.
However, on reaching the vehicle, she was pleasantly (and very) surprised.
A traffic warden had responded with their own note, replying: "Good afternoon. Okay, this time I’ll give you :).
"It’s important you remember that should this happen in the future you MUST phone the number on the board next to the machine.
They then signed off the note with a cheery: "Have a good rest of the day."
Posting both images on Twitter , Lyd captioned the tweet "Thanks for understanding x."
Why does this literally never happen to us?
