Vincent and Josephine, the younger siblings of Prince Christian, 12, and Princess Isabella, 10, were born in Copenhagen University Hospital on January 8th, 2011.

Vincent was born 26 minutes before little Josephine and their birth was marked with a 21 gun salute as Prince Frederik fronted national and international press to announce their arrival.

On April 14 that same year, Princess Mary and Prince Frederik posed for snaps at Holmens Kirke, Denmark, after the twins’ christening before heading to Grasten Castle in August for their first summer holiday as a family six.

Grasten Castle has been a popular place for the royal family to visit over the years – with the entire family unit often hosting photo calls in the picturesque castle gardens.

In February, 2012, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine experienced a snow holiday to Verbier, Switzerland, for the first time – Mary and Frederik fly to the resort every year for an annual family trip (pictured)

Over the years, the twins have got better and better at skiing, enjoying time with their mum and dad in the snow (pictured in 2014)

The couple visited Greenland in 2014 with their children, where Josephine pulled a face during a photo call – often her facial expressions have stolen the show in photos

Over the years, the twins have enjoyed any number of one-of-a-kind trips.

In February, 2012, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine experienced a snow holiday to Verbier, Switzerland, for the first time – Mary and Frederik fly to the resort every year for an annual family trip.

While there, they could be seen all adorably wrapped up and wearing tiny matching snowsuits, mittens and snug beanies as they enjoyed the snow.

The twins have also visited the likes of Sydney and Tasmania – where Princess Mary is from – and petted lemurs and giraffes.

Vincent, on the other hand, has always remained relatively calm during their public outings and allows his outgoing twin sister to steal the spotlight (pictured at Chateau de Cayx on June 11, 2014)

During the family’s annual Hubertus Hunting event in 2015 the cheeky princess could be seen from the Eremitage Castle balcony pulling a series of hilarious poses, with Vincent often watching on or, in some cases, somewhat following in his sister’s footsteps.

Despite Vincent’s more reserved nature, the duo appear to be the best of friends and no matter where they are, they are often seen exploring, playing and adventuring side by side – whether it’s playing with dogs or inventing games in their lavish palace surrounds.

The little princess’s playful nature has led her into some trouble at points. In July 2015, Josephine broke her arm and could be seen sporting a blue cast.

2017 was a big year for the royal twins, with their first day of day proving to be an exciting one for Josephine and more of an emotional day for Vincent.

The Australian-born princess and Prince Frederik accompanied them to Tranegård School in Hellerup, Denmark, to begin Grade 0.

But the occasion appeared a little overwhelming for the young prince, whose eyes filled with tears at one point – leading his attentive mother to place her hand lovingly on his head.

This year has been a big year for the twins, with countless royal fans expressing their shock and delight over how much the little ones have grown up.

‘I’m shocked how much the children have grown up, especially Isabelle and Josephine takes after her mum so much,’ one fan wrote online when they saw pictures of the family at the Gråsten Ring Rider Association’s annual parade in the gates of Gråsten Palace.

‘Very nice to see the CP Family again. These children are growing so fast, Christian and Isabella almost are their mothers height. Vincent and Josephine are not little children anymore. I must say everyone looks fantastic today,’ another added.

The royal family recently spent Christmas 2018 in Denmark compared to the previous year where they celebrated in Mary’s hometown of Tasmania.

The siblings were expected to celebrate their birthday privately at their home in Copenhagen with friends and family (Josephine pictured in 2014 and 2016)

The latest official photograph of the twins for their birthday shows equally how much they’ve grown.

The portraits were captioned: ‘Today, D.K.H. Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine turn eight years old, and on the occasion of their birthday, the Crown Prince Couple has the pleasure to share a number of new pictures of your Royal Highnesses.’

The post has received almost 27,000 likes as well as hundreds of birthday wishes from well-wishes.
