Is this proof of a poltergeist? Couple’s security camera records a drawer appearing to open by itself and cutlery flying around the kitchen while they were at work
- Ben Hubbard and Lainey Clark set up a CCTV camera in Buckinghamshire home
- They uploaded footage to TikTok showing a drawer open and cutlery jump out
- Couple believe ‘spirit’ in their home is called Dave after speaking to a medium
A couple who claim a ghost called ‘Dave’ is haunting their house appear to have captured proof on their home security camera.
Ben Hubbard, a PE teacher, and his partner Lainey Clark, a primary school teacher, moved into a three-story townhouse in Buckinghamshire in 2018 but claimed they soon started to notice strange movements around the house.
They decided to try and catch their supposed poltergeist on CCTV and installed a camera in their kitchen – which captured footage of items inexplicably flying out of the drawer.

In a spooky clip recorded at 11.29am on May 14 – when the pair were at work – the camera showed an empty kitchen when one of the drawers slowly opened by itself.
All of a sudden, a piece of cutlery apparently went flying out of the drawer and seemed to be forcibly thrown across the room.
It bounced off the window and landed with a clatter just underneath the drawer.

A couple of seconds later, a second object jumped out of the drawer and launched itself across the room into the opposite corner.
Then the door, which was ajar, slowly began to close of its own accord.
In the caption of the video they uploaded to TikTok, which has received more than 19.3 million views, they wrote: ‘CCTV cameras coming in handy while we were at work…’
Other TikTok users shared their thoughts on the clip, with one person called Alinaa (sic) writing: ‘I would never come back to that house.’
Speaking on their YouTube channel, the couple, who both work as teachers, say that they learned through a psychic medium that the spirit living in their house is called Dave
However, a few people shared their skepticism about the clip, with one writing: ‘I have such a hard time believing what I don’t witness with my own [eyes]. So many things can be edited these days.’
Ben and Lainey regularly upload footage of the paranormal activity in their house to social media and appear to have no intention of moving out.
Speaking on their YouTube channel, the couple say that they learned through a psychic medium that the spirit living in their house is called Dave.
According to the medium, Dave, who is a young male, died in a car accident not far from their house.
