Inside Kelsey Parker’s incredible ‘family fun day’ to raise money for charity in memory of late husband Tom

August 7, 2022

Kelsey Parker hosted an incredible charity event on Sunday 7 August in memory of her late husband Tom Parker, who tragically passed away in March as a result of a brain tumour.

Mum-of-two Kelsey, 33, held a 'family fun day' in order to raise vital funds for the Ahead of the Game Foundation and celebrate The Wanted star Tom's legacy and memory.

After initially announcing her plans at the beginning of July, Kelsey had been busy preparing for the charity event which included a 5k walk and a whole host of live performances and activities.

It was held at Memorial Hall & Gardens in Petts Wood on 7 August, just three days after what would have been Tom's 34th birthday.

Kelsey explained the significance of the venue and date when she first announced details of the event, and told her followers: “Tom lived in Petts Wood and to us it was home, Tom loved being part of the Petts wood community. I know that Tom would have loved to see the local community that he was a part of come out to support.”

She also added: “August 4th would have been Tom's 34th birthday so join us in making this a day to be remembered in memory of him.”

Kelsey's event kicked off with a 5k walk around the Petts Wood area before everyone headed back to the gardens for a day packed with activities and live entertainment.

The 33 year old ensured there was something on offer for everyone, with a teddy bears picnic, bouncy castle, face painting and more available.

In snaps shared from the event, Kelsey and her loved ones could be seen sporting bright blue t-shirts with a photograph of Tom printed across the front.

EastEnders star Louisa Lytton, who is a close pal of Kelsey's, was in attendance along with her husband Ben Bhanvra and their adorable daughter Aura, and she shared a number of sweet clips of the event.

"What an EXTREMELY SUCCESSFUL day for @tomparkerofficial @being_kelsey did you so very proud as always. So much money and awareness raised for @aheadofthegame_foundation Love you mate x," the actress posted on Instagram.

Kelsey and Tom's two year old daughter Aurelia could be seen sweetly dancing around in front of the stage while wearing a bright blue t-shirt in an adorable clip one of Kelsey's pals shared.

TOWIE favourite James 'Arg' Argent, 34, took to the stage with his band, The Arg Band, at the event, as well as RuthAnne and OJM.

Ahead of close pal Arg's performance, Kelsey shared a snap of them both on Instagram and sweetly wrote: "Working with real_arg ahead of this weekends event. So grateful for your support. Can't wait to watch you perform," alongside a music note, sparkle and red heart emoji.

The event aimed to raise funds to support the Ahead of the Game Foundation, a charity founded in 2021 by Dave Bolton, a patient who was diagnosed with the same type of cancer that had sadly claimed Tom’s life.

Kelsey’s is now Co-Director of the foundation, where she shares the role alongside Dave Bolton and Dominic Matteo.

Kelsey recently donated £70,000 to support the foundation’s work after a successful gofundme campaign in Tom’s memory received widespread support from all across the globe.
