Influencer sobs and shares reality behind Instagram smile after ‘burning out’June 24, 2022
A woman has shared the bleak reality of how sad Instagrammers can actually feel behind the social media smiles, as she posted heart-wrenching clips of herself shedding tears.
Clara Dao works to promote body positivity to her over 150,000 Instagram followers, but there's a slight difference to her message.
She gives a voice to women who are skinny and flat-chested in attempt to show that all bodies – no matter how lean – are beautiful.

Recently she's shared some pictures that are slightly different to her usual happy snaps that are full of colour and life.
Instead, she wanted to show how "burnout" can take its toll on women by revealing the tears she's been shedding behind the scenes.
She shared some lovely bikini shots that she said reflected the image of "what she often posts on social media."
The images showed her displaying signs of being both "happy" and "confident".
But, underneath it all, she said she's actually been experiencing some pretty tough moments behind the scenes.
In the short clip that showed her crying, Clara said: "But there's one thing that I've been dealing with.
"I think I'm burnt out – physically and mentally.
"I haven't created or posted any content in more than a week, and I feel really overwhelmed and behind with my work.
"I think there are just too many things going on right now – moving, constantly travelling, making plans with people etc. while I expect myself to work, be creative and produce content while doing all of that.
"I'm so, so tired sometimes and the thought of getting up and work just seems like too much, and I really want to just forget about everything and escape."
Clara was crying tears in the short clip where she looked both tired and upset.
She posted the series of pictures and clips to highlight what "burnout" can look like, and said it's ok to admit that you're going through a tough time.
The content creator said she's "feeling better now", adding that it can be beneficial to talk about the difficulties you've been going through.
She urged people not to compare themselves to others on social media, as the pictures don't reflect all of what's going on in a person's life.
Writing on Instagram, Clara said: "Thank you to everyone who messaged me about my story yesterday.
"My heart is filled with so much love.
"I can’t reply back to everyone but just know that you’re the biggest reason why I do what I do.
"I’m so lucky and I’m so grateful for you. Thank you for being here."
Since sharing the content Clara has received a lot of support from her followers, with the post having bagged over 13,000 likes and more than 300 comments.
One person wrote: "I'm glad you have the courage to be honest and say that you're not having a good time.
"We're here to support you. Take all the time you need to feel better."
Another commented: "That's so sad. You are so incredibly beautiful. Chin up young lady."
A third added: "Totally understandable. We love you and not going anywhere.
"You take your time, whenever you need it. You gotta take care of yourself first. You are beautiful inside and out."
