Marques Thomas has a battleplan for Walmart clearance deals and here are his 13 secret hacks to save money in an era of dizzying levels of inflation.
1. GET THE APP
You can download the Walmart app to find hidden clearance deals in-store.
Firstly, find the yellow stickers that show discounted items and scan the barcode using the app.
This will show you the clearance item online, and likely at a cheaper price than you will find in store.
2. GO ON THE WEBSITE
You can search directly for the discounted items on the website to save endless hours of scrolling.

Just type "clearance" into the search bar and every sale item will show up. If looking for something specific, you can filter and refine your results.
3. LOOK UNDER THE CLEARANCE PRICES
Behind those yellow discount labels could be a lower price lurking.
This might only happen occasionally, but Walmart sometimes puts even more marked-down labels underneath.
4. PRICE MATCH AT THE CHECKOUT
Walmart price match allows you to match the price of identical items found in-store or online.

So you can use the app to find the online price and then ask for the deal at the counter.
Walmart shoppers can also price match with Amazon online.
5. TIMING
The start of the month is the best time to snatch up a bargainat Walmart as prices are normally marked for clearancein the first five days.
6. PREDICT FURTHER DROPS
You can use the price tag of items to work out whether it will be reduced further.
A yellow sticker ending with a five or zero it means it has been reduced for the first time and will likely be reduced further.
However, if it ends with a one then the price is at its lowest already.
7. HIDDEN CLEARANCE SECTION
In-store items that can be scanned for the deals on the app don't always need to have a yellow sticker on.
If you scan any item in the shop, it's likely you will find a deal on the app.
8. FREE DELIVERY
Once you have identified all the best deals using the app, you can order them all at once for free if its over $35.
9. MORE TIMING
Walmart has the right to limit price matching to one item per customer a day – so be smart about what you use it on and when you use it.
10. BE ON THE HUNT
Discounted items might be found outside of the clearance section – so always be on the lookout for a deal when in store.
11. SOCIAL MEDIA
People love to get a deal and they post about it too.
You can search for hashtags such as #walmartclearance to locate the best bargains elsewhere.

12. CHECK IT OUT FIRST
Before running off to pursue that deal, you can check it first searching for the product's stock keeping number (SKU) on Walmart's website.
