I feel so good wearing women's clothes – but why?

November 22, 2021

DEAR DEIDRE: WHEN drunk one night, I told my wife that I like to wear her dresses and tights. I must have been off my head.

I had a brief recollection the next morning and tried to brush it off as a daft thing I said but my wife was fine with it and totally supported me.

I’m 52 and she is 51. We’ve been happily married for 20 years and have a 16-year-old son.

I’m a totally typical male. I love my football and always travel to support my team – sometimes I’ve even got caught up in some of the fights with opposing fans.

I was one of the macho boys, which makes this so embarrassing.

I don’t fancy men at all. I only ever want to have sex with my wife.

Can you tell me why I feel like the way I do?

DEIDRE SAYS: You’re fortunate to have a supportive wife. Cross-dressing is far more common among heterosexual men than many realise.

Dressing as a woman gives you a temporary release from pressures you feel as a man – to be the breadwinner and emotionally strong as well as physically robust

My support pack Worried About Cross-Dressing? explains more and will reassure you.
