How to wear white eyeliner – inspired by Rihanna, Margot Robbie and Laura Whitmore

Colourful eyeliner is certainly a trending makeup look this spring, but there’s also a big case being built for white eyeliner. Celebs like Rihanna, Margot Robbie and Bella Hadid have all previously loved the monochrome look, and now Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore is reigniting the trend with a new graphic style.

Laura wears the look in a St Patrick’s Day-themed Instagram snap, pairing the monochrome makeup with a vivid green blazer. Very en-vogue.

Makeup mogul Rihanna knows a thing or two about trending looks. For her Fenty Beauty launch earlier this month, the singer wore all Fenty for a white liner-heavy glam. We also love how she layered the white over a flick of black liquid liner.

Margot Robbie

Margot makes just about any makeup trend look good, and white eyeliner is no exception. She makes an impact with her eyes here by keeping the rest of her makeup very minimal, only adding a subtle bit of definition with a black eyeliner on her upper waterlines.

Sophie Turner

Sophie looks a far cry from her Game of Thrones character with this glam makeup. The white liner does, however, suit her perfectly, contrasting brilliantly with her strawberry blonde hair.

Make your look doll-like like Sophie’s by fanning out your lashes with three coats of a volumising mascara.

Bella Hadid

Bella usually wears most of her statement eye looks on the runway, but the model also chooses it occasionally for her off-duty days. We love how she’s styled the liner with slicked back hair and gold jewellery – very classy!

Top tip: For a crisp eyeliner flick like Bella’s you’ll want to opt for a special liquid formula and not a damp brush dipped into a white eyeshadow.
