Cannes Film Festival 2021: Best dressed stars from Bella Hadid to Sharon StoneJuly 15, 2021
Each year we see our favourite models, celebrities and actors flock to the South of France for the Cannes Film Festival.
And this year they have pulled out all the stops after missing out on the 2020 red carpet, opting for pure luxury and decadence.
We’ve seen many fashion moments making history on this red carpet, from Kendall Jenner’s iconic pink Giambattista Valli dress to Cheryl’s regal nude Ralph & Russo dress. And this year, it seems no different with many of the looks already making headlines.
Here are some of the best dressed…
Let’s start off with the incredible Bella Hadid, who showed up to the carpet in a rather daring look. Sporting a plain black dress with a low scooped neckline, Bella let her statement gold lung necklace do all the talking!
The Schiaparelli couture look left us both equally baffled and obsessed.
Another star that stole the show was none other than the amazing Sharon Stone, who rocked up to the carpet in a fabulous blue tulle gown by designer Dolce & Gabbana.
The elegant, Cinderella-inspired dress came adorned with floral appliqués to give the dress a more dramatic edge, and honestly, what a moment it was as she strutted down the carpet.
Jude Law’s daughter Iris floated down the carpet in this stunning Christian Dior white gown, but it wasn’t that which captured everyone’s attention.
The 20-year-old model debuted a dramatic hair transformation, cutting off her brown locks and opting for a bleached blonde buzz cut, adding a whole new edgy vibe to the elegant look.
It isn’t just the ladies that are catching everyone’s attention, oh no. Call Me By Your Name actor Timothée Chalamet showed us that men can very much rock the red carpet as he dressed up in a brilliant Tom Ford silver metallic suit.
One to always take risks with her fashion is actress Tilda Swinton, managing to make any outfit work.
And this Haider Ackermann ensemble is a fabulous example with the juxtaposing pink jacket paired with the bold orange skirt and green sequin sleeves. A masterpiece!
Maggie Gyllenhaal never fails to look elegant and sophisticated, and she embodied pure class in this Chanel look. A plain white shirt paired with a full black tulle skirt is giving us all the Carrie Bradshaw vibes.
Jodie kept it classy and cool as she glided down the red carpet in a white embellished Givenchy dress.
Keeping her winning streak going, Bella oozed glamour in a white figure hugging dress which packed all the drama with a long black tulle cape by Jean Paul Gaultier.
Hollywood actress Jessica Chastain impressed us in this black Christian Dior Haute Couture gown which featured contrasting fabric piping over the tulle skirt and bodice.
We love that you can see the boning detail through the dress.
Normally when it comes to Cannes, the brief is go big or go home and Spanish influencer Marta definitely went big in this Lorenzo Caprile look.
Not only did it have all the drama with a long train, but it came with a chic pair of tailored trousers underneath – incredible.
French actress Marion Cotillard grabbed our attention in this flawless metallic silver Chanel Haute Couture dress.
We love the mix of the sequins and soft lace.
Ex-Victoria Secret model Candice Swanepoel broke up the red carpet’s conveyor belt of dresses in this killer embellished jumpsuit by Etro. The deep plunging, fringed jumpsuit left the 32-year-old ticking all of our style boxes.
Helen Mirren never fails to bring a smile to our face, and this bold yellow dress by Dolce & Gabbana will leave us grinning for days!
