Bryce Hall Shares How Jail Has Changed Him After Being Arrested for Marijuana Possession Last Month

June 24, 2020

Believe it or not, but it’s almost been a whole month since famous TikToker Bryce Hall was arrested for possession of marijuana during his Memorial Day weekend road trip to Texas with fellow Sway House member, Jaden Hossler. When the rumors first hit the web, multiple TikTok drama accounts alleged that Bryce took the fall for Josh Richards (another Sway House member), so Josh could avoid getting deported since he’s Canadian. While this fact wasn’t confirmed, Bryce did do jail time in Texas and is now reflecting on his experience and how it’s changed him.

In an essay penned for People, Bryce wrote about what was going on in his mind while he was sitting in his jail cell. “I thought about how much I had let my mom down,” he wrote. “As a single mom, she worked really hard to raise me and has always been my number one supporter through everything.” He also admitted that if he “listened to her 100 percent,” he would have never ended up in jail in the first place.

Bryce’s time in jail reminded him of his father, who previously served time for unpaid child support and abuse charges. “As I sat in that cell, it made me feel just like my father,” he said. “It was a mortifying and shameful experience. I had promised myself for the past twenty years that I would never be like him…and there I was.”

While going to jail was an emotional experience for Bryce, it’s served as a wake up call for him to change some of his unhealthy habits. “While I will still drink occasionally, gone are the times of drinking heavily every day,” he said, adding that he’s in a much better headspace since making the change. “I’m more focused than ever before and am constantly working hard on my brand and have never been more excited to post amazing content for my fans on social media.”
