Arthur and Karen among ‘worst’ baby names, according to parenting website

An expert revealed common mistakes parents make when naming their kids.

Sherri Suzanne is paid £300 per session to help mums and dads find the perfect moniker.

But the guru, who runs the My Name for Life website, admits there are some names she steers clear of.

She told the Daily Star: “I caution parents that in an effort to make children stand out, they can also make it harder to fit in.

“Resist picking names that form jokes, puns, rhymes, or phrases that have strong negative associations…

“In an attempt to express individuality, it’s best not to create obscure and convoluted spellings."

Sherri added: “I think the recipe for success starts with a name that can be said with confidence—such a name can be a time-honoured classic, a trendy Top 10 or completely unique.

“A name for success has pleasant sounds and is spelled logically to achieve correct pronunciation.”

The baby name expert isn't the only one to warn of "bad" baby names.

If you're expecting perhaps consider the following a guide, though an odd guide at that. Tried and trusted names such as 'Arthur' and 'John', 'Flora' and 'Karen' are shown alongside the likes of 'Hitler' and 'Nigel'.

Not included is Elon Musk and ex-partner Grimes' attempt. A frankly bullying-inducing 'X AE A-XII'

The site insisted the list of names was not a serious study, but just a bit of light-hearted fun

"This list is meant to be a bit of light-hearted fun and no offence is intended. If you love a certain name, then you should use it and forget about what anyone else may think," they said.
