ITV will tonight air the 17th series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, and as always, the presenting duo will be speaking to a range of various celebrity guests. But how much money do Ant and Dec have in the bank each?

Ant and Dec are worth a whopping £62million each, according to Spears Magazine.

The pair earned a massive fortune thanks to their presenting roles on various TV shows over the years.

Their earnings increased last year when they signed a £40 million, three-year deal with ITV for Britain’s Got Talent, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Saturday Night Takeaway, and Ant and Dec’s DNA Journey.

The deal could end up being worth £50million if they decide to extend it beyond the three years.

So how did Ant and Dec get to where they are today?

Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are the pair’s full names.

They both hail from Newcastle upon Tyne and are both 45 years old.

The duo first met as child actors on CBBC’s drama Byker Grove.

Ant had gained some TV experience before Byker Grove, appearing on BBC’s children’s TV series Why Don’t You?

However, Dec was the first to get a role on Byker Grove, with Ant joining him a year later.

They quickly became good friends on and off the screen.

Byker Grove producer Mathew Robinson told the young actors at the time: “Stay together through any row you have, whatever it is, be together and you could be the future Morecambe and Wise.”

In a more recent interview with the BBC, Mr Robinson said: “I think they have proved that in many ways.”

After their first TV stint, Ant and Dec tried their hand at pop music and released two albums under their Byker Grove character names, PJ and Duncan.

The duo’s most famous single was ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble’, which was nominated for a BRIT award.

For their third and final album, Ant and Dec used their real names.

While releasing music, the TV stars also started presenting a children’s show named Gimme 5, broadcasted on CITV in 1994.

In 1995, Ant and Dec were offered a job on CBBC to present their own show, The Ant and Dec Show, which went on two win two BAFTAs.

Also in the late 90s and early noughties, they presented Ant and Dec Unzipped on Channel 4, ITV’s SMTV Live and CD:UK, BBC’s Friends Like These, and the ITV show Slap Bang with Ant and Dec.

In 2002, Ant and Dec created and presented the first ever series of Saturday Night Takeaway.

During the same year, they also hosted I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

The pair still present I’m a Celebrity every year, as well as Britain’s Got Talent, which they began hosting in 2007.

In their private lives, Ant was married to make-up artist Lisa Armstrong from 2006 to 2018, and is now in a relationship with Anne Marie Corbett.

As for Dec, he has been married to Ali Astall since 2015.
