Aldi cuts Christmas dinner veggies to just 28p per pack in festive feast price warDecember 17, 2018
The budget supermarket is battling with rival chains including Tesco and Lidl to have the cheapest seasonal trimmings – and it's winning so far.
Aldi's price slash today comes days after Tesco cut prices of key ingredients including sprouts and parsnips to 29p to match prices at Aldi and Lidl.
Six vegetables are now priced at 28p each at Aldi as part of its regular cut-price "super six" deal.
It's the cheapest price for those ingredients of any major supermarket for the same approximate weights, according to our analysis.
The veg included in the deal are: 500g of Brussels sprouts, 1kg of carrots, 500g of parsnips, a red or white cabbage, a whole swede and 2.5kg of potatoes.
