The super-rich life of Liam Payne’s fiancee Maya Henry – who threw a $4MILLION party and hangs out with Brooklyn Beckham

August 28, 2020

SHE was once described as 'the world's luckiest teenager' – and as the the daughter of a multimillionaire, Maya Henry is no stranger to luxury.

But now the 20-year-old beauty is officially engaged to Liam Payne, 26, it looks like her incredible fortune is going to keep heading in one direction.

Maya first met future hubby Liam at a meet-and-greet backstage at a One Direction gig when she was just 15 years old in 2015.

But the power couple were rumoured to be dating in 2018 and are now tying the knot following Liam's split from Cheryl Cole, with whom he shares three-year-old son Bear.

And The Strip That Down hitmaker made his lasting commitment to Maya crystal clear with a iceberg-like £3million engagement ring.

The pair have also been seen hanging out with the great and good at exclusive parties, including with Brooklyn Beckham and his fiancee Nicola Peltz.

But Maya has been quite accustomed to the finer things in life for some time now – including multimillion-pound birthday bashes and starring in her own Kardashian-style reality show.

'Made my dreams come true'

Maya is the daughter of wildly successful – and wildly extravagant – personal-injury lawyer Thomas J. Henry.

The Mexican-American family, which also includes Maya's mum Azteca and older brother Thomas Jr, are based in Texas, where Thomas Sr. owns a string of legal practices.

Maya's dad is famed for his philanthropy, giving away thousands of turkeys to needy families every year for Thanksgiving every year.

But he's also known for throwing stupendously expensive parties – including Maya's mind boggling 15th birthday in 2016.

A girl's 15th birthday or Quinceañera is an important coming of age celebration in Hispanic cultures, but Maya's was a truly outrageous blowout rumoured to cost $6million (£4.5million).

It featured live performances by Pitbull and Nick Jonas, and was held in a 55,000-square-foot facility in Texas that was organised by a team of 150 people.

The cavernous space was decorated with 30-foot cherry trees, fountains, and boasted a "garden room" along with a ballroom in which butterflies were suspended from the ceiling.

Maya herself was styled by the Kardashian's make-up artist, Patrick Ta, and Michelle and Barack Obama's photographer Donna Newman was called in to take pictures of the night.

"It was an amazing night, one I will never forget," Maya said of the party.

"I am so thankful to everyone who attended and to my amazing parents, who literally made my dreams come true."

Viral teenage reality star

Maya's ludicrously lavish do was followed up a year later when Thomas Sr. dropped $4million (£3million) on Maya's brother's 18th.

That party at Hotel Discotheque in San Antonio, Texas, featured a performance from rap trio Migos, who fired cash from money guns on stage.

And Thomas Jr. was treated to a $250,000 blue Ferrari 488 Spyder and an IWC Portugieser Tourbillion watch, which can cost more than $200,000.

Thomas Sr. even threw a $4.5million 56th birthday party for himself in 2018 at a Miami Beach mansion, which was attended by Cardi B.

The wild party and its planning was covered in the first series of a reality show about Maya and her family, Hangin' with Los Henrys.

"I want to have girls hanging from the ceiling,” mum Azteca says in the trailer, with Maya adding: “Girls in cages, painted in gold.”

The 2017 YouTube reality series, reminiscent of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, was paid for with family funds, and was speculated to be a cash-in on Maya's birthday going viral the year before.

"It was just us," Maya told Wonderland, commenting on the family's hijinks.

"We didn’t have to fake anything! It was all real.”

Magazine cover girl & silver screen starlet

Maya's star power in front of the camera clearly shone through in the series, though, as her on-screen career has taken off.

In 2017, she starred alongside Joe Jonas in the music video for DNCE's hit Kissing Strangers, which has been viewed 83million times on YouTube.

And in 2019 she joined the cast of Carte Blanche, a film described as "psychosexual nightmare" about a young actor being corrupted by the excesses of Hollywood fame.

But she's probably best known around the world for her international modelling work with some of the biggest names in fashion.

Maya has worked for the likes of Vogue, Glamour and Elle Romania.

Constantly posting glamorous shots in some of the world's trendiest locations, it's small wonder that Maya's amassed an army of 326,000 followers on Instagram.

As well sharing workout videos and magazine covers with her face on, she's posted sweet insights into her relationship with Liam.

"All smiles over here," she captioned a snap of her and Liam cuddling up on a sofa last year.

Founded a charity at eight years old

Maya hasn't kept her astonishing good fortune all to herself, however.

In 2008, she founded Maya's Corner – a charity which gives school supplies to young people in Texas – when she was just eight years old.

She also wants to follow in her father's footsteps by becoming a human rights lawyer, citing Amal Clooney as a personal inspiration.

Clearly all those good deeds are being paid back in kind with her wonderfully happy relationship with Liam.

After their original meeting at the gig in 2015, Maya and Liam met up again at a Dolce & Gabbana gala dinner in Tremezzo, Lake Como.

After a string of dates, the pair drifted apart, but they confirmed they'd rekindled their romance in July 2019.

Commenting on a picture of them together, Liam wrote: "Sometimes I don’t recognise this happy guy… Sure glad you brought him back though."

He added that he was grateful to Maya for "keeping the biggest smile on my face through all the stress and making me realise how perfect my life really is".
