June 16, 2023A WOMAN who was sick of looking at her grubby, rundown garden fence has revealed how she gave it a modern makeover on a budget.
The woman took to Facebook to show off her clever hack, and it left people seriously impressed.
And she revealed it was the perfect way to spruce up your garden even if you lack DIY skills or live in a rented property that can't be changed too much.
Taking to the Facebook group Gardens on a Budget, the money-saver said: "A real budget idea for a novice DIY person!
"My idea to cover a horrible fence can be removed easily to if you rent like we do!"
In the post, she revealed she bought Capital Valley Plastics Damp-Proof Course Black tape for £4.99 a roll.

The DIY whizz then began by placing the tape vertically on the fence, leaving a gap between each piece of tape.
Once done, she then took the tape and began placing it horizontally along the fence, weaving it in and out of each vertical piece of tape.
She then secured the pieces of tape to the fence with staples, and her garden glow-up was complete.
The savvy woman had a brand new looking fence without even getting a paint brush near it.

She penned: "So pleased with how this came out was going to weave it as per second pic but wasn’t sure then worked out would cost double compared to going just straight down which was also less time consuming!
"All it is is strips of damp course, works out about £5 for a 6 foot panel."
The budget makeover was a hit with members of the group and people praised the woman for her 'genius' DIY hack.
One person wrote: "That looks amazing."
