In 2017, Melania Trump attended the G7 Summit in Sicily, Italy. She turned heads in an extravagant floral dress and floral appliqué jacket by Dolce & Gabbana – which was far from cheap.

Melania Trump looked absolutely stunning as she stepped out a Chierici Palace City Hall of Catania, on the sidelines of a G7 summit.

She wore a floral applique jacket by Dolce & Gabbana, turning heads on the streets of Italy.

The jacket was rather show-stopping. It was a huge garment with broad shoulders and long sleeves, however the then First Lady appeared to drape it over her shoulders.

The jacket was a huge burst of colour from top to bottom, boasting floral patterns in an array of shapes, sizes and colours.

The base of the jacket was white, but there was barely any material left uncovered by adornments.

It had stunningly intricate red, blue, purple, white and magenta flowers all surrounded by deep green leaves.

The coat had a three dimensional look, with the flowers appearing to be raised at different levels all over the garment.

She paired this with a matching clutch, which may also have been Dolce & Gabbana. It had an almost identical pattern.

Melania let her jacket and clutch do the talking with a more simplistic, plain dress, reportedly another Dolce & Gabbana design.

The former First Lady wore a silver dress, falling just below the knee, which cinched her in at the waist and hugged her hips.

As for shoes, Melania went for white, pointed-toe pumps, which complemented the dress while allowing the jacket to stand out as much as possible.

She accessorised with large black sunglasses, and wore her caramel tresses down in loose waves.

Opinion was divided when it came to the lavish jacket, with some arguing it was too expensive. Others, however, thought it was incredible.

Under a repost by Dolce & Gabbana, Instagram user @kruscavages commented: “Love this! When in Italy! Thank you DG for creating such beautiful designs for our beautiful First Lady!

@tconrado seconded this, calling Melania “beautiful and elegant”. @zuroliveria added that it was a “sensational look”.

However, others critiqued that the price of the First Lady’s designer jacket was too extortionate.

@Helimo tweeted in 2021: “It’s still ugly two years later.” @SandySpruill214 added: “That $51,500 (£43,000) was not spent well.”

Melania Trump recently stunned at step-daughter Tiffany Trump’s wedding at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida. She was pictured dancing with her husband Donald wearing a floor-length floaty gown.

The strappy pleated dress was very chic and minimalistic, not detracting from bride Tiffany who wore an extravagant bejewelled gown.

Melanie broke up the cream monochrome with a thin belt in a metallic gold shade. This cinched in the former First Lady’s waist.
