I'm a size 18 with 36E boobs and ditched Zara for M&S – their swimwear is so flattering & nothing is going to pop out | The SunMay 11, 2023
IF you need a new summer wardrobe and aren’t sure where to start, you’ve come to the right place.
According to many fashion fans on social media, M&S is the place to be for the ultimate summer wardrobe this year.
We put these claims to the test and asked body confident babe, Elizabeth Carley-Leonard, who posts on TikTok under the name @elisabeth.carleyleonard, to try out and review a selection of swimsuits from the high-street chain.
31-year-old Elisabeth, from Leicester, is five foot 8 and is a size 18 with 36E boobs.
She told Fabulous: “It is almost hot girl summer and hot girl summer is never, ever, to just be for the skinny girls.
“And we are not using the words, ‘I am going to wait until I lose weight for that’, so today, I’m going to do a try on haul with some new-in bits.”

Elizabeth revealed that she used to be a Zara devotee but has ditched the chain for M&S.
She explained: “I used to really like Zara but I don’t fit in Zara anymore.
“I try on clothes in Zara and they don’t fit and it sends you into an existential crisis.
“Not only are their sizes crazy but I swear they put the lighting in the fitting room to make you have a nervous breakdown.

“When I used to be skinny I used to shop there but I literally don’t go in there anymore, I wish I could.
“They have beautiful clothes, but they aren’t stretchy and don’t fit.”
Elisabeth explained that she’s loving the new-in swimsuits at M&S and claimed that not only are they flattering, but they’re affordable too.
She noted: “What I love about the M&S swimsuits is that you feel like you’re wearing shapewear, but without being restricted, which is really nice.
“The M&S swimsuits are made with high quality material – you feel safer and they don’t feel like anything will pop out. I’d go down a water slide in these.
“I think M&S got a bad rep of being where your grandma shops but now they’ve bought themselves to the younger generation, without putting the older generation to the side.
“The M&S swimsuits are flattering and affordable too.”
Elisabeth put some of the new M&S swimsuits to the test and revealed that she was highly impressed with the reasonably-priced selection.
Tummy Control Printed Bandeau Swimsuit, £32.50
First up, the curvy fashionista modelled a stunning floral print one piece.
She noted: “First of all, we’re going to go for this floral number.
“There’s support down the side to give you that structure and support here [boobs] to keep the girls where they need to be.
“As you can see it gives you a really nice shape, especially around the middle and I feel like everything is where it needs to be.
“This is a size 18 and for me, I wouldn’t size up or size down. An 18 fits me perfect.”
Ruched One Shoulder Swimsuit, £35
Next up, Elisabeth modelled a beautiful black swimsuit.
She added: “Ok, I’m a little bit obsessed with this one.
“It’s non-wired but still has that secret slimming technology and I feel like I’ve got a bit of compression to make sure my curves are doing what they’re supposed to be.
“I just love the originality of the design.”
Tummy Control Padded Square Neck Swimsuit, £29.50
Following this, Elisabeth tried on a bright pink swimsuit.
She claimed: “Now this is my colour, but for me, a neckline that goes straight over, I don’t feel like it's super flattering.
“I prefer something a little deeper, something that shows you off a bit more.
“That said though, I do like what’s going on on the stomach area and I do like the support it’s giving me on the bust area as well.”
Tummy Control Wrap Plunge Swimsuit, £32.50
The final swimsuit Elisabeth tried was a black and white wrap number.
She explained: “This is my favourite one so far, it’s a UK 18 and it has that magic shaping technology.
“What I love is this extra design feature, of this cross body panel, which you can tie at the side to give you more definition in your waist area.
“This is something I would feel really happy and really confident wearing.”
Denim Mom High Waisted Shorts, £27.50
To finish off the haul, another item that Elisabeth was impressed with was a pair of blue denim shorts.
As she showed off the stunning shorts, she said: “These are mom short, high-rise denim shorts and the material is super soft, super stretchy.
“They went on fine, I found them really comfy.
