I was a sorority sister and got kicked out of Bama Rush for wearing the wrong kind of bra – they were not happy with me | The Sun
May 25, 2023AN ex-sorority girl has revealed that she was kicked out of Bama Rush for her choice of bra — which her sisters deemed unacceptable.
Kiri was a sister at the University of Alabama when she was booted from recruitment because of her underwear, and she said she was ultimately ousted from the sisterhood altogether.
Kiri (@kiricamp) has no problem marching to the beat of her own drum, but it meant consequences in Greek life.
In one TikTok video, she said that she was kicked out of her school's sorority recruitment, also known as "rush," for her choice of bra.
Recruitment can be a vigorous few days, so it seems Kiri wanted to swap out a more restrictive bra for a comfortable sports bra.
Sorority heads found out that she was wearing the athletic attire when, as they were lining up to do a door chant, a fellow sister reached into her shirt and snapped her bra for fun.
As a result, she said that she was yelled at by the VP of Recruitment in front of the whole sorority for her style choice.
"I don't think that the girls that we're recruiting are going to care if I wear a sports bra or a padded bra. Not that they'd be able to tell," Kiri explained.
As the video came to a close, she admitted that not only was she kicked out of the recruitment weekend, but she was eventually kicked out of the sorority as a whole.
"I guess I didn't fall into their mindless, southern gal, submissive personality much," she said.

Kiri didn't name the sorority she'd been a part of.
People were quick to share their opinions about the situation in the comment section of the video.
"Did the girl who violated your personal space get kicked out also?" a viewer asked.
"This is mind-boggling to me. So you essentially pay thousands of dollars to be part of something where they yell at you for a sports bra???" another chimed in.
