June 1, 2023A CLEANING pro has revealed her genius solution after failing to find space for her tumble dryer inside – and people can’t believe they didn’t think of it.
Thanks to Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest, it seems that a custom utility room is the latest must-have accessory.
Sadly, not all of us have the space or budget for a room like those spotted in Mrs Hinch or Stacey Soloman’s lush pads.
Luckily, Laura Williams came up with a genius solution – and built her own utility room in her GARDEN.
Rather than forking out on a pricey extension, she’s housed her tumble dryer and cleaning products in a garden storage box – and people can’t believe they didn’t think of the idea.

During the 38-second reel, Laura is seen opening up the garden storage box, placed just outside her back door, on her garden patio.
Inside is a full-size tumble dryer and a small shelving unit holding the rest of her cleaning products.

“I remember when I first posted a video of my tumble dryer outside, and everyone can’t believe that it lived outside.
“It’s taken an absolute battering over the winter. One of the doors snapped off, so we were having water coming in all the time.”
She revealed that one downside is the weather during the winter months, however, her tumble dryer is still going strong.
Laura continued: “By the way, this tumble dryer is absolutely ancient, but it still working so it's all good.
“A utility room would be very nice, but that isn't an option in this house.
“But I do need to think about buying a new storage container or even a small shed.
“So we've just got to work with what we got at the moment.”
Below the video, she added: “I don’t even have a storage cupboard let alone a utility room… 1930s house.”
Shoppers can pick up similar-style garden storage boxes from various retailers, including Argos and B&Q for as little as £30.
Her unique set-up attracted plenty of attention online, gaining more than 4,000 likes and 196,400 views.
Known online as @cleaning_at83, Laura regularly shares handy cleaning tips and home hacks with her 1.1 million followers.
In the comments, TikTokkers shared their reactions, with one writing: “It works, it's out the way… well done.”
“I've had this exact setup for yrs now. I also have a freezer in mine. so much better than taking up space in the kitchen,” commented another.
