July 29, 2023A YOUNG woman has shared how she jazzed up her council house hallway thanks to cheap buys from the high street.
Celene Francis, 25, explained that she has given her home a mega makeover, using budget buys from B&M, Ikea, H&M and Primark.
But now, she’s given her hallway a fresh new look on a budget, thanks to buys from B&Q.
So if your home is looking a bit dull and needs a glow up, but you don’t have a huge budget, you’ll want to listen up.
Posting on social media, the DIY fan gave her followers a close-up look at her “council house hallway” as she said: “POV: You live in a council house but have an eye for DIY.”
At the start of the clip, we saw Celene’s very plain, white walls in her hallway.

Seconds later, she proudly showed off her DIY slat wall, which she had accessorised with a chic table, candle and pampas plant.
In another clip, Celene shared the step-by-step process of making the slat wall.
She said: “This is your sign to slat panel your wall.”
At the start of the video, we saw Celene in B&Q, where she bought her supplies, including planed smooth timber.

Once home, she painted the walls black, before glueing and sticking down the wood panels.
Seconds later, gave her followers a close-up look at her DIY creation – leaving many open-mouthed.
Celene’s TikTok clip, which she shared under the username @61thecouncilhouse, has clearly impressed many, as it was posted just five days ago, but has quickly amassed 181,800 views.
But social media users were left divided at Celene’s DIY slat wall – while some loved it, others weren’t so keen.
One person said: “Looks amazing!”
Another added: “Looks beaut.”
A third commented: “Love it.”
However, at the same time, not everyone was as convinced by Celene’s slat wall.
One user posted: “Looking like a sauna.”
