Former Taco Bell employee reveals menu secrets including what two meats to stay away fromJanuary 26, 2022
A WOMAN who claims to be a former Taco Bell employee has sounded off on what she thinks customers should actually be eating from the fast-food restaurant.
In a video posted to TikTok, she revealed what she deems as “safe” to eat, and two types of meat she thinks people need to stay away from.
“So I worked at Taco Bell for almost three years and I’m here to tell you all the truth,” the woman, who goes by @momofstacy on the social media platform, said at the top of her video.
“Ground beef is in fact real ground beef.
“It just has a lot of water and seasoning in it … but it’s safe, I promise,” she claimed.
She added that the store’s grilled chicken is “real grilled chicken.”
“You’re fine; go ahead and eat it,” she instructed.
However, she had a less than appealing view of Taco Bell’s shredded chicken.

“The shredded chicken: run,” she urged.
“Run the opposite direction away from the shredded chicken.
“You can swap out the shredded chicken for grilled chicken on any of the items, FYI, but the shredded chicken is all the bits and pieces of the chicken that you don’t wanna eat and I promise you: Eventually you’re going to get a bone.”
Lastly, the user recommended avoiding the steak and called it “so disappointing.”
“It’s 90 percent gelatin,” she claimed.
“If it gets left out for any amount of time, it turns into a slab of gelatin.”
She concluded: “Just trust me and stay away from the shredded chicken, steak.”
The video, which was viewed 5.5 million times and counting, received mixed reactions.
There were several other supposed former employees who supported the woman’s claims, with one commenting: “Six years at [Taco Bell]! Can confirm the steak turns to sludge.”
Another added: “I was a manager for four years at Taco Bell and she’s not lying lol..”
“I’m literally devastated about the steak,” a regular customer replied.
However, not everyone was turned off by the woman’s comments about Taco Bells’ food.
“I’m gonna pretend I didn't hear this … I love Taco Bell,” one loyal customer commented.
“Disappointed about the steak but I’m probably gonna still eat it,” another admitted.
Taco Bell Corporation is aware of the TikToker's analysis of its meats and provided a statement to The Sun.
“We can assure you that this is incorrect.
“There is no added gelatin in our steak.
“Taco Bell takes pride in using high-quality ingredients and we use only USDA grade select or better for our steak.
“Food quality is our top priority, and we are proud to have industry-leading food quality standards and transparency about what’s in our food.
“For detailed information about our ingredients, visit the Food & Nutrition section of our website.”
There have been plenty of whistleblowers on TikTok who previously worked at beloved chain restaurants or still currently do.
For instance, someone posted a video showing how Chick-fil-A’s lemonade is made while still employed by the company – and people were furious it wasn’t fresh.
Plus, a man who supposedly worked at a popular steakhouse revealed they cook their lobster tails in the microwave.
