Dad puts out newspaper ad inviting women to meet his ‘handsome, single’ sons over Christmas… and they have NO idea
December 20, 2018Whether your mum's showing your new partner baby pictures or your dad's making jokes rubbish enough to be included in next year's crackers, it wouldn't be a proper family Christmas without a few cringe moments.
But spare a thought for these poor blokes, whose dad has taken it to a whole new level.
Dad Neil, from Oregon, US, has put out a newspaper ad in the local paper ahead of his family holiday to New Zealand, advertising his "single, handsome sons" out to any interested ladies.
And his poor sons – consultant Benjamin, 26, charity worker Jeremy, 28, and estate agent Matthew, 31 – have absolutely no idea.
The ad, in the Classified pages of the New Zealand Herald, reads: "My wife and I have 3 wonderful, successful, handsome, alas unmarried, sons between the ages of 28-32.
"We are not expecting, just hoping, to introduce our sons to some nice NZ daughters.
"At the very least we'll embarrass our sons and the truth is, we do find some enjoyment in that."
The family arrive in New Zealand on Boxing Day and are staying until January 7 and Neil has also given out his email address.
He's had more than 200 responses, but told the paper: "It's hard to tell how many are genuine."
Neil added: "I know one of my sons uses these dating sites and is always going on introductory dates and meeting somebody, but he hasn't had a serious relationship in quite a while.
He doesn't plan to tell his sons about the ad until they get on the flight to New Zealand, or maybe even when they land.
The ad has gone viral on social media, with lots of Kiwis tagging their mates and saying: "Go get 'em gals".
Earlier this week, we reported on a mum who Googled the cost of her Secret Santa present – then demanded her colleague buy a new Christmas gift as it ‘was cheap’.
