There’s a new director of design at the helm creating this capsule of clothes.

John Lewis has long been a stalwart on the high street, boasting an impressive beauty hall, fashion floor and accessories edit.

Stocking a range of beloved brands including 7 For All Mankind, Allsaints, Charles & Keith and Ghost – to name but a few – it has cemented itself as one of the nation’s favourite department stores – and that’s not to mention the wonder that is Waitrose.

But, the retailer’s own-line wares are well worth a look too. With a new director of design, Queralt Ferrer, at the helm, the newly launched autumn/winter 2022 collection has started dropping this week, and we’ve rounded up our wishlist picks below.

11 grey blazers that will outshine overcast days

Dopamine dressing is a key trend in 2022, focusing on bold colours to brighten moods and lift neutrals from basic beige tones, and the retailer has brought this through into its winter collection. After all, it’s usually during the time of grey skies and drizzly days that fashion needs to boost our moods the most.

Four colours make up its foundation: power pink, poppy cobalt, verdant green and the all-important tonal tones to create, as Queralt Ferrer says, “a timeless wardrobe” that is modern in colour and fabric. And our favourites include a bold blue coat, pink blazer and chunky black loafers that can be worn with anything from the latest jeans trends to clashing coloured skirts.

Of course, sustainability is a huge focus point for the collection, with materials such as Lenzing and Ecovero sourced from sustainable wood pulp featuring heavily in the pieces that are made to last a lifetime. So, if you’re sold on seeing the new season wares, keep reading below for a starting point of our Stylist selection.
