Tilly Ramsay and Strictly Come Dancing 2021 partner Nikita Kuzmin performed a Charleston to Yes Sir! That’s My Baby by Firehouse Five Plus Two. Gordon Ramsay’s daughter impressed the panel with the energetic routine, a marked improvement on last week’s debut.
NO WAY on earth should Tilly Ramsay be top of the leaderboard
The 19-year-old was awarded an eight by both Craig Revel Horwood and Anton Du Beke, and a nine by Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas.
A total of 34 put them joint top of the leaderboard alongside Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies and Aljaz Skorjanec.
However, James Jordan has claimed there is “no way on earth” the teenager should be in that position.
The dancer live tweeted his thoughts on the latest instalment in view of his 284,000 followers.
The 43-year-old gave a critique of every couple and, while praised Tilly, he did not agree with the judges’ scores.
The former star, who was a regular on the BBC show between 2006 and 2013, urged people to “explain” the results to him.
He had earlier praised her and Nikita’s efforts, saying he “loved” what they did.
But he was having none of it when it came to the final scores.
James took to Twitter to say: “OK Tilly was great this week and a massive improvement on last week but NO WAY on earth should she be top of the leaderboard.
“I just don’t get it – please explain it to me someone.”
He had earlier gushed about how she did a “great job” following her Waltz to Consequences by Camilla Cabello.
Tilly got a score of just 21 during her first live performance.
James stated: “Bl**dy hell – all the ones that weren’t that good last week have massively improved this week.
“I wouldn’t have known by last week’s dance that she has also had some dance training.
“Charleston is such a fun dance and she did a great job, I loved it this week. Well done.”
He added before signing off: “ANYWAY – what a great week of some exceptional dancing and some of the ones I thought would exit early massively lifted their game.
“The competition has officially started.
“Massive respect to all of the pros in creating such a great fun show tonight #Strictly.”
This evening the first elimination of the series will take place, with Sara being tipped to be given the boot by bookmakers.
Strictly Come Dancing: The Results airs tonight at 7.05pm on BBC One.
