John Whaite, 32, and Strictly Come Dancing co-stars Rose Ayling-Ellis, Tilly Ramsay, Sara Davies, Rhys Stephenson and Maisie Smith have been making the most of their downtime from the Strictly tour by enjoying a hot tub boat ride on the River Thames.

The gang are wrapping up the last leg of shows at London’s O2 Arena with final performances today and tomorrow.

Celebrating more than four weeks on the road, John shared clips of the group sailing along the Thames in sailor hats as they relaxed in the warm water.

In view of his 310,000 followers, John panned the camera around the Strictly cast as they all sang along to tracks by Kelly Clarkson and Miley Cyrus.

Each of them beamed at the camera and John and Rose blew kisses.

In the background of one of the clips John joked that the boat was so hot they “should have brought a couple of steaks”.

Tilly also shared some footage of the Strictly stars singing along to Fight For This Love by Cheryl.

John was in his element and danced along to the track as Tilly captioned the clip: “John living his best life.”

It comes after John almost had to pull out of the tour after a Covid scare.

He tested positive on a lateral flow test last weekend and had to miss two performaces at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro Arena.

Thankfully, a PCR test came back negative and he was able to get back on the stage with partner, Johannes Radebe.

Sharing the good news on Instagram, John wrote: “PCR came back negative so I’ll be back on stage in Glasgow tonight.”

John and Johannes ended their Strictly Come Dancing journey in second place, losing out to Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice.
