Stacey, who recently admitted she didn’t let Joe look after her sons for years, wrote: “It was truly magical, and the people who run them were so kind and friendly. Always there to answer any questions and even help us with places to go, food and updates on govt rules.”

After returning from the trip, some local residents have been left disgruntled by the family’s visit, despite them not breaking any government rules amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Some critics shared their frustration over the trip in the comments section of a Wales Online article.

One wrote: “Should not have been allowed to travel to Wales. Clowns.”

Another added: “Glad they enjoyed themselves. Thousands of hardworking Welsh families would love to have the chance of a short break or holiday in their own country but have been prevented fro doing so by our wonderful First Minister and his cabinet of clowns.” [sic]

A third added that “Wales is closed” while another branded Stacey and Joe “reckless”.

But some defended the couple as one wrote: “im glad you enjoyed your trip stacey. wales is beautiful and for all the negative comments below, powys is not in lockdown! so technically not closed. [sic]

“im sure the family followed all the local rules and posed no risk. as a front line worker in a hospital I understand coronavirus is deadly but do you have to be so mean to people? the world needs to be kind. the government has scared everyone to extremes but you can't demonise every person who needs to set a foot outside. “id understand your hate comments if she came to wales and went around the country meeting people and spitting in their faces hugging and ignoring all the rules but she didn’t!” [sic]

As another said: “Wales is not closed”.
