Pointless host Richard Osman jokingly asked his fans to “pray” for him after a bit of an accident at home yesterday. The 49-year-old television star, who fronts the popular game show with co-host Alexander Armstrong, admitted to overdoing a shower gel with two very potent ingredients.
“Just overdid the Tea Tree & Mint Original Source Shower Gel. #PrayForMe,” the presenter amusingly informed his 961,000 Twitter followers.
The active ingredients in the bath product are very well known for their skin tingling properties.
“Feel your pain,” said EastEnders star Jake Wood in the comments section of the post, who seemed to understand his predicament.
“It’s a bit of a shock on the nethers,”(sic) another follower candidly pointed out.
“The kind of mistake you only want to make once but don’t,” a third social media user joked.
“Arrggghhh nooooo yikes, this was the only shower gel available whilst self isolating one week, u are in my thoughts and prayers,”(sic) a fourth follower remarked.
Attempting to describe the pain, another hilariously went on to say: “A friend of mine asked how painful a vasectomy was.
“I replied ‘less painful in your nether regions than a shower with the tea tree and mint shower gel’.”

Jake, who is best known for playing Max Branning, recently revealed he was leaving the BBC One show.
After 15 years on Albert Square it is highly likely he will have a big departure when the time comes to film his final scenes.
In an heartfelt Instagram post last week, Jake told fans that he loved playing his character Max and had made some great friends over the years.
The actor said in view of his 98,300 followers: “I have made some truly great friends whilst on the show and I’ll miss everyone there.
“I’m grateful they have left the door open for Max and I’m excited to see what new horizons are around the corner.”
