Ranvir Singh, 43, admitted she made a slight blunder as she addressed her co-star’s exit from Good Morning Britain. Katy Rickitt, 37, recently revealed she has temporarily stepped down from her regular duties on the morning show as she takes on a new role.

The presenter announced that she will be switching over to ITV Calendar as one of the show’s main anchors last month.

Regular GMB presenter Ranvir took to Twitter today and bid farewell to Katy but admitted she “totally missed” the news.

Taking to the micro-blogging site, the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant offered an apology before offering her well wishes to her ITV colleague.

In view of her 104,000 followers, Ranvir reacted to Katy’s post from last month.

The message read: “Excited to share that from the week after next I’m heading to @itvcalendar to be their main presenter for 6 months!

“It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be entrusted to relay the hard work of an incredible team on a show I grew up with. Final @GMB week of 2021 next week!”

Taking the opportunity to congratulate Katy, the ITV favourite penned a sweet message.

Ranvir wrote: “Fab news! Sorry I missed this! They are lucky to have you! Xxxx.”

Katy, who is married to former Coronation Street star Adam Rickitt, 42, took to Instagram and shared a goodbye message last week.

She shared a candid video alongside her work colleagues.

Katy began: “Good morning. As it is my last morning on GMB for a while I thought I’d introduce you to my work family.”

Panning the camera towards her colleagues behind the camera, the correspondent went on: “This is Geoff. My work dad.

She added: “My alarm went off at 1.30am because I bothered to do my face.”

Katy admitted that she would miss her work colleagues as she departs GMB for the rest of this year.

The presenter added: “I’m really going to miss you guys when I go over to calendar next week. I’m trying not to cry.” (sic)

Katy is a news correspondent for GMB and has worked for ITV since 2008.

However, her new role will mean she’ll be taking a break from the early morning show.
