Prince Estate Reveals Plans For First 3 Album Reissues

The Prince Estate along with Legacy Recordings have announced plans to reissue three albums by the late artist.

Musicology, 3121 and Planet Earth are due out on February 8, 2019. They will be available on CD and, for the first time ever, on vinyl as well.

According to a statement, the vinyl versions will be pressed on collectable, limited-edition purple vinyl, with new exclusive merchandise tied to each album on sale in the official Prince store.

The physical release of these albums follow the agreement inked between The Prince Estate and SME/Legacy in June 2018.

Released in 2006, 3121, Prince’s 31st studio album, became his first record to debut at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and his first number album since 1989’s Batman.

Musicology, which was released in 2004, received two Grammy Awards – Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Vocal Performance – Male, and has been certified RIAA double platinum.
