Laura Whitmore has taken an emotional trip down memory lane, reflecting on a year since she flew out to present her first series of Love Island.
The 35 year old took to her Instagram account exactly a year from the day that she travelled to Cape Town to begin filming the hit ITV show.
Uploading a photo from just before she took part in a photo shoot ahead of her debut, Laura said: “How was this just a year ago!?”

The TV star continued: “This day last year I flew to Cape Town and went straight from a 14 hr flight to this @Loveisland shoot. It was so exciting but also f***ing scary!”
Continuing to say that it felt like a totally different time in her life, Laura reflected on how much has changed.
Laura, who recently announced she’s expecting her first baby with husband Iain Stirling, typed: “It feels like a lifetime ago, not a mere 12 months, and nothing could prepare me for the emotional rollercoaster ahead.”

“Eternally thankful for the people around me in my life for keeping me sane,” the Celebrity Juice Team Captain sweetly added at the end of the message to her 1.3 million followers.
This comes days after mum-to-be Laura opened up about her intimate wedding ceremony with Iain, which took place in 2020.
Sharing a picture from their magical day in Dublin, Laura told her fans: “Entering 2021 like…”

She then opened up about their big day, saying: “A year ago Iain asked me to marry him and we had the most magical, perfect ceremony.”
Clearly still on cloud nine, she added: “We loved having it to ourselves. We had been planning the perfect celebration and I will forever be so thankful that’s what we got.
And explaining why they didn’t share the news earlier, Laura said: “We have never spoken publicly about our engagement or wedding.”
“Back at the time we never felt the need to say anything as it’s all such a personal experience. We also were too busy enjoying it!”
"We’ve never shared this picture before now but a lot of people have contacted us and congratulated us the last month with good intentions so here’s to good news!" she continued.
Laura finished off her post by writing: "Sending love to you and yours and here’s to 2021! Happy new year everyone! Wishing you all the love x.”
