Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan, 55, has sparked a huge reaction amongst fans by revealing he has written a new book, after teasing his 7.6 million followers with a “big announcement” earlier today. The star confirmed in a Twitter post: “BREAKING: I’m delighted to announce my new book: ‘WAKE UP – Why the ‘liberal’ war on free speech is even more dangerous than Covid–19.’
“Out on October 15th in hardback, ebook & audiobook read by me.”
Fans rushed to the comments section of Piers’ tweet to share their thoughts on his revelation.
Some Twitter users were less than impressed by the news and admitted they thought the journalist’s announcement would be “bigger” than it was.
One person seemed disappointed, writing back: “We waited all day for this?”
Another added: “Ok …Come on Piers …We’re waiting for the big news…”
A third fan hit back: “I’ve never felt more underwhelmed by an announcement.”
“That’s nice. Still waiting for the big announcement, though,” a fourth person quipped.
However, other fans shared their excitement for the book, with one person replying: “People moaning about the book, get yourself out for a walk or something.

“Even better go write your own book. You may not like it, but there’s plenty of people who will buy it!!! How many books you sold???”(sic)
Another tweeted the star: “How can you get a signed copy?!?? I love you Piers!”
The backlash sparked by Piers’ tweet comes after many fans speculated his announcement would be related to his hosting role on Good Morning Britain.
Fans shared their theories about the television personality’s news after he wrote on the micro-blogging site this morning: “I’ll be making a big announcement at midday. Watch this space.”
A concerned fan replied at the time: “I hope you are not leaving GMB. We need you there.”
Another added alongside crying with laughter emojis: “I think he’s joining @BBCBreakfast???”
A third person wondered: “You’re moving back to America permanently?”
A fourth Twitter user quizzed: “How big is BIG? Don’t want to wait around all morning just to find out you got a haircut.”

Worries about Piers’ future on GMB came after he hinted at his plans to leave the ITV programme before embarking on his break from the show alongside co-host Susanna Reid.
While informing viewers about their upcoming holiday, Piers said: “We have two more days left, then you’ll all be glad to see the back of us.”
Susanna quickly clarified: “For now! Whenever you say we’re off and we’re leaving…”
The presenter then read out a letter from a viewer who had sent in paintings of the two hosts with a note, which said: “I thought I heard you state you’re leaving at the end of the year.”
Piers explained in response: “I’m not… Leaving next year… Possibly.”
