Neil Jones takes ice bath as he tries everything to be fit for Strictly

Neil Jones has missed two weeks of Strictly Come Dancing live shows after a knee injury forced him to pull out.

And it seems the professional dancer, 37, is trying everything to get fighting fit ahead of this weekend's performances.

He took to Twitter earlier this week to reveal that he's been taking long ice baths so he can return to the dancefloor with his partner Alex Scott, who has been dancing with Kevin Clifton in the meantime.

Neil tweeted: "I've never had so many ice baths in all my life. Truthfully @Joe_Sugg would have no chance against me at an ICEBATH challenge. I can do 20mins."

He then revealed he'd accidentally beaten his own record.

Neil added: "I was so busy answering messages that I didn’t realise I had been in the ICEBATH for 30mins."

Neil has continued working with Alex on her routines and he has told fans it's looking likely that he'll be back on Saturday night.

He previously tweeted: "Most people don’t like Monday’s but I do… That’s because I get to teach @AlexScott a NEW DANCE!!!!"

Fans flocked to his page to ask about his injury and whether he would be back on Saturday night.

In response to one fan, Neil tweeted: "It’s positive at the moment but still I need to see."

When another follower asked if Kevin could return for a third week, Neil replied: "I also Love Kevin but I also would really like to continue dancing with Alex."

He added to another fan: "He’s [Kevin] been great but I would really like to come back if that’s ok."

Neil's painful injury is believed to be either a torn knee ligament or a pulled calf muscle, which can take up to six weeks for a full recovery.
