Mark Labbett, 55, has reportedly moved to America to pursue TV and film roles while appearing on the US Version of The Chase. The TV star has appeared on ITV’s favourite quiz show since 2009 and has since earned the name The Beast in reference to his height and stature.

Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed that the star had moved to sunny Los Angeles.

They said: “Mark secretly relocated to LA last month – and has been having the time of his life.

“They reckon Mark could become one of the biggest UK exports in recent times”, they added.

The Beast has reportedly been signed by a top agent in Los Angeles, where he hopes to land movie and TV roles.

However, the move doesn’t mean the end of The Chase for the star.

ITV reportedly approved of the Chaser’s stateside move and have planned ahead for him to return to film episodes of the quiz show this summer.

Mark recently took to Twitter to show off his incredible 10-stone weight loss while dressed in a sharp, James Bond-esque suit.

In recent months, the 6ft 6 chaser, known as The Beast on the ITV show, has sported a much slimmer physique, which he has shown off on social media.

The source added that TV executives thought that The Beast has a “Clark Kent” look about him, which would prove to be popular with American women.

It has been reported that The Chase star signed a six-figure deal with network ABC to star in the US version of the hit game show.

The source claimed that the American TV network “poached” the star to add “spark” to the stateside version of the show.

They added that after a screen test, the star was offered the role on the spot as he also polled well with US viewers.

Express.co.uk has contacted Mark’s representatives for comment.

The American version of the gameshow is hosted by Sara Haines and features Jeopardy! winners James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter as chasers.

The show is similar to the UK version, but has teams of three constants instead of four.

The news comes as Mark’s co-star Anne Hegerty hit out after receiving backlash for filming The Chase in Australia.

Anne and Mark joined the Australian version of the UK show in 2015.

The star recently returned to the country for the first time in over a year, following a delay due to coronavirus.

Upon arriving, she confirmed she was in quarantine, in line with Government and travel rules.

However her trip sparked a mixed reaction from social media users after appearing on Good Morning Britain..

In view of her 151,000 followers, she commented: “Just so you all know – anyone giving me a hard time about having a visa to work in Australia is being muted. Complain to the government if you like, but don’t guilt-trip me about it.”
