Male Strictly professionals set to raise temperatures after announcing tourJanuary 14, 2019
Male Strictly Come Dancing professionals are set to raise temperatures all over the UK after announcing a tour.
Aljaz Skorjanec, Giovanni Pernice and Gorka Marquez have revealed they will be teaming up for the 38-date summer gig.
Here Come the Boys will see the trio of hunks travel the length and breadth of Britain with their own entertaining ballroom dance routines.
They will battle each other every night in latin, ballroom, commercial and contemporary, and then as there are no judges the audience gets to decide on the champion of the night.
Speaking on ITV’s Lorraine about the tour, Aljaz said: "While we might all be the best of friends, the show’s competitive element means that there will be no love lost when we battle it out on the dance floor to win the audience vote – serious bragging rights are at stake."
Giovanni, who finally confirmed he is dating Ashely Roberts on the ITV daytime show, joked that Aljaz and Gorka would be hoping to beat him “as they both secretly know I’m the best dancer”.
“I can’t wait to be crowned champion every single night!” he said.
Gorka said touring with two of his best friends was “the icing on the cake”.
After the outright confirmation of his romance, Lorraine continued to probe Giovanni who kept tight-lipped before confirming he spent Christmas and New Year with her in Florida – along with Aljaz and his wife Janette Manrara.
At this, Aljaz jumped in to help his mate, saying: "It was beautiful I mean it’s always beautiful to be in Florida for Christmas and New Year but it’s bit weird because Santa usually comes on a sleigh rather than a surfboard."
Giovanni will perform on this year’s Strictly tour, as well as Ashley and Aljaz, but Gorka will sadly miss out.
Ashley and Giovanni have been picured together a great deal since their Strictly drama, and Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell are another pair who found love in the most recent series.
The Here Come the Boys tour, which was choreographed by Aljaz’s wife Jeanette Manrara, will start at the Sands Theatre in Carlisle on June 15.
Other stops on the tour include Carlisle, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Leicester, Nottingham, Birmingham, London and Brighton, before the show wraps up in Southend on July 28.
Set around a club scene with a DJ filling the venue with dancefloor anthems, club classics and guilty pleasures, Aljaz, Giovanni and Gorka will go head-to-head in a battle Latin, ballroom, commercial and contemporary dance disciplines.
