Liam and Millie fans spot signs couple were set to split before announcementJuly 13, 2022
Love Island fans have speculated that Millie Court and Liam Reardon were set to split months before they finally confirmed it.
Liam, 23, and his former Love Island partner Millie, 25, announced their split on Wednesday 13 July, a year after winning the show and scooping the £50,000 prize money, and both took to their social media accounts to confirm they were no longer together.
There had been speculation about the state of their relationship for months before they confirmed their split.
Earlier this year, fans took to social media to speculate as to whether the pair had split, with one person saying: "He also hasn't posted a picture with her in over a month, which is pretty unusual for his feed. He even posted pictures of himself at the Asos Beauty Awards alone even though they attended together."
Someone else wrote: "They seem to be spending more and more time apart as well he's back in Wales a lot which is absolutely fine but I fear he's just not settling as easy in Essex."
Liam also raised eyebrows on the Heat podcast in March, when he said he had "nothing to wake up for".
Speaking about his move to Essex, he said: “I came off [Love Island], I’ve been put into Essex, no family no friends. Obviously, I’m with Millie, which is good… I’d wake up, but have nothing to wake up for,”
“Millie was getting all these [deals] and doing really well, and I was starting to panic, 'Am I going to go back to work'," Liam added.
Liam confirmed his split from Millie in a statement on Instagram on Wednesday 13 July as he wrote "Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Millie and I wanted to share with you that we have sadly separated.
"Honestly so gutted. But thank you to everyone single one of you for supporting our relationship. Nothing will ever take away from the amazing experience we shared in Love Island & the past year we've been so lucky to both come into each other's lives.
"We both will continue to be friends and I will remain Millie's biggest supporter in all that she does and I know she will also do amazing."
Liam went on: "We're both ready for new chapters and I'm excited for what's next. Again I just want to thankyou all for supporting us on what's been an incredible journey."
Millie echoed Liam's sentiments on her own Instagram story, writing: "Hi everyone, to avoid any speculation Liam and I wanted to share with you that we have separated".
She went on: "It's been a tough decision and I am gutted but it's ultimately what is best for us right now. Thank you for every single one of you for supporting our relationship.
"Nothing will ever take away the amazing experience we have shared in Love Island & the past year and I wish Liam all the best in everything he does.
"We're both ready for new chapters and I'm excited for what's next."
