Jeremy Clarkson has brutally mocked Lewis Hamilton for wearing a “wedding dress and suit” to this year’s Met Gala. The presenter called out the F1 driver after he took to the red carpet earlier this week.

Lewis attended the prestigious event on Monday where he paired a lace net skirt over his black suit.

He wore a see-through mesh shirt to complete the look with some shiny black loafers.

The head-turning look split on-lookers with some hailing his appearance as swarve while others mocked it.

Jeremy was in the latter camp as he took aim at the F1 for his “wedding dress” look.

Writing in his latest column, The Grand Tour presenter mocked Lewis.

He penned in The Sun: “It’s very obvious that the whack Lewis Hamilton took to the head when Max Verstappen’s Red Bull landed on it last weekend, below, was bigger than we feared.

“Because he turned up the next day in New York, at the Met Ball, wearing a suit and a wedding dress.”

As Jeremy referenced, Lewis was left with head injuries after a crash at last week’s Italian Grand Prix.

Max’s car flew over his own leaving his rear wheel landing on his head.

Lewis was saved from a more serious impact by his car’s halo device.

He still turned up to the Met Gala the next day, where he hosted a table of emerging young Black designers.

Discussing the decision, he told Vogue: “The Met is the biggest fashion event of the year, and for this theme, I wanted to create something that was meaningful and would spark a conversation.

“So that when people see us all together, it will put these Black designers at the top of people’s minds.”

Lewis’ Met Gala look was the subject of some discussion earlier this week on social media.

Author James Felton wrote in view of his 302,000 Twitter followers: “Are his legs getting married.”(sic)

Fan _levantina wrote: “LEWIS HAMILTON WHAT IS THAT? i was expecting more.”(sic)

However, others were a fan of his look, taking to Twitter to praise him.

Follower JennieGow penned: “Highlighting individuality at the Met Gala.

“@LewisHamilton and Sebastian Vettel are such amazing activists now.

“How far we have come! How lucky we are.”

While user O4MCL4R3N wrote: “Lewis hamilton really came and SERVED!! #MetGala”
