Holly Willoughby fans spot star’s subtle social media change hinting at Phil ‘rift’

May 12, 2023

Fans of This Morning's co-host Holly Willoughby claimed that she removed her co-star Phillip Schofield from her Twitter amid their ongoing reported feud.

Holly and Phil have co-presented This Morning together since 2009, and became "great friends" after first having met as hosts of Dancing On Ice on the same channel.

However a source recently claimed to The Sun that their rift was "clear" to people working with the duo on This Morning, and fans think Holly's subtle social media change is part of the reported growing tension.

The source said: "Professionally you would have no idea there was anything going on because on camera they are acting exactly the same, but behind the scenes their relationship has cooled."

Now some fans on Twitter have claimed Holly’s Twitter bio previously included a reference to Phillip, but it has since been removed.

Fans claim her bio used to read: “I was introduced to this by a Twitter legend”, referring to Phillip.

However, now her bio reads: “'Broadcaster, Founder of Wyldemoon, Brand ambassador for Marks & Spencer and Garnier, Author of Reflections.”

One twitter user wrote: “Didn’t Holly’s twitter bio say something about being introduced to Twitter by ‘a legend’ (ie Phil), now it’s not there…#nosmokewithoutfire #thismorning”.

Another user replied to a photo of Holly and Phill and said: “Loads of newspaper reports overnight that they've both fallen out and don't talk anymore. Holly's also removed the mention of Phil from her twitter bio #ThisMorning.”

Holly’s alleged social media change follows after she was “blindsided” by a statement that co-star Phillip made.

TV presenter Phillip claimed yesterday that it had been a difficult "few weeks" for the on-screen duo, with his comment on their alleged estrangement understood to have been a bid to mend his broken friendship and working relationship with Holly.

"The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us," the 61 year old told The Sun. "As I have said before, Holly is my rock."

He continued: "We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone. Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her."

However, an insider said that for “the first time in 14 years”, Holly has made it clear that she would want to stay on as a presenter of This Morning if Phill was ever to leave the show.

"They are separate entities. It has become an open secret that things aren't as rosy as they once were."
