In what might have been their first interview together in the United States that was pre-taped before release around a week ago, Halsey and Yungblud sat down with DJ Harms of Los Angeles’ Alt 98.7 to promote their new single “11 Minutes.” During the interview, Halsey and Yungblud talked about how they first met, how quickly “11 Minutes” came together and how they split up responsibilities during the collaboration.

While the two carefully skirted around talking about their reported romantic relationship, little hints sneak out throughout the interview. It is especially funny to watch how more than once over the course of the interviewHalsey looks like she is trying to edit or at least calm down Yungblud when he seems to get a bit overexcited when answering questions.

It is also interesting to hear Halsey and Yungblud discuss the deeper storylines that drive both the lyrical content of “11 Minutes” and the visuals of the track’s music video. Besides being about a volatile relationship, the song also blends “Black Mirror”-type science fiction elements with the story of a man trying to come to grips with unexpected loss.
