Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t ‘know how’ to be a stepmom to Brad Falchuk’s kids

Motherhood isn’t new to Gwyneth Paltrow, but stepmotherhood is.

The GOOP founder wed Brad Falchuk in September, and in turn gained two stepchildren, as Falchuck has two teenagers, named Isabella and Brody, from a previous marriage.

“I’ve never been a stepmother before,” she told WSJ. Magazine. “I don’t know how to do it.”

Paltrow also has two kids from her previous marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. Although she and Falchuk are officially husband and wife, the two haven’t “merged households” yet.

“We are still doing it in our own way,” she explained. “With teenage kids, you’ve got to tread lightly. It’s pretty intense, the teenage thing.”

The “Iron Man” actress, 46, said she and Falchuk, whom she met on the set of “Glee,” couldn’t be happier.

“It’s fantastic,” she said of married life. “I feel like we are probably better equipped to choose our life partner when we are halfway through life. But generally we have to pick our spouses a lot earlier because of the whole procreation piece … For me it has been more of a process, and so I feel really lucky to have met this person who is an incredible, true partner.”
