Grimes reveals nickname for son, after naming baby with Elon Musk X Æ A-12

Grimes has revealed the cute nickname she’s bestowed upon her son with Elon Musk, X Æ A-12, after the pair were recently forced to change the spelling of the newborn’s name.

After being welcomed into the world last month, Grimes and Elon have answered many a question about the peculiar moniker.

The Genesis star explained the meaning behind the baby’s name when he was born to include ‘X, the unknown variable, Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence) A-12 = precursor to SR-17 (our favorite aircraft). No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent’.

Got that?

This was later corrected by Elon as SR-71, as Grimes continued: ‘A=Archangel, my favourite song’ with an accompanying a rat and sword emoji.

While we may have known the inspiration behind the name, we were floored at the explanation of how to pronounce it, with it seemingly being X Ash Archangel, or X AI Archangel, depending on which parent you listen to.

Now Grimes – real name Claire Boucher – has made our lives a little easier, as she shared her own nickname for the little one, telling Bloomberg she calls him ‘Little X.’

Little X, we can manage that.

It comes only a week after Grimes, 32, admitted the parents had to slightly tweak the spelling of the baby’s title after Californian law prohibited numbers being included in someone’s name.

According to the singer, his name is now spelt X Æ A-Xii, with roman numerals.

Elon’s mother had previously shared another pretty-easy-to-pronounce nickname for the newborn, as she wished everyone a happy Mother’s Day in the US last month.

Sharing a sweet snap of Elon, 48, doting on his youngest son, Maye Musk wrote on Twitter: ‘X, welcome to this world. You are so adorable.

‘Congrats @elonmusk and @Grimezsz who will celebrate her first #MothersDay tomorrow.’

She added: ‘#ProudGrandma #GrandmaOf12 Love this photo by ⁦ @christianamusk.’
