Ed Sheeranhas admitted that he missed the release of his newest album because he fell asleep.

It wasn’t because the singer was being lazy, however, but because he's been batting Covid and was advised to get lots of rest by his doctor.

Ed, 30, explained that he usually likes to stay up for his album releases, but failed to do so when his new album titled ‘=’ dropped first thing Friday October 29.

Speaking to Zoe Ball on her Radio 2 Breakfast Show about having Covid, Ed said: "I think I'm getting to the other side of it. The beginning of the week was pretty gnarly but I just drunk a lot of water and slept a lot and had all the vitamins that the doctor told me to have."
