Dean Gaffney, 44, becomes grandfather for second time as daughter Chloe gives birth
January 28, 2023Congratulations are in order forDean Gaffney, who has announced that he has become a grandfather for the second time.
The formerEastEnders star,who is rumoured to be appearing in the highly-anticipated I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! All Stars jungle, took to Instagram to make the announcement and proudly told his 97,300 followers that his daughter Chloe had welcomed her second child into the world.
Sharing an adorable snap of the newborn, 44 year old Dean gushed over his daughter’s latest arrival and revealed the youngster’s name.
“Grandchild number 2! [heart emoji] Welcome to the world baby Penelope. Born: 23-01-23/ 6 pound 10oz. So nice for Mimi to have a sister. [heart emojis],” he wrote.
Following Dean’s happy announcement, the actor’s friends and followers were quick to flood his comments with messages of praise.
“Beautiful [heart emoji],” wrote fellow soap star Natalie Cassidy. Meanwhile Coronation Street star Andy Whyment commented: “Congratulations mate [heart emoji] x”.
Helen Flanagan also expressed her support for Dean and added: “Congratulations darling [heart emoji] xxx,” while Calum Best showed his love by simply leaving three heart emojis.
The TV starfirst became a grandfather back in July 2021 when Chloe welcomed her first child – a little girl called Mimi.
Announcing the news of his first grandchild on Instagram, Dean gushed over his growing family and shared an adorable snap of himself cradling the little one.
“Welcome to this crazy world, my beautiful granddaughter Mimi,” he wrote. “I am very happy to announce I am a GRANDAD. I can't believe my baby is now a mother, proud is an understatement.”
He added: “Chloe and Declan you're going to be amazing parents. X Baby Mimi, born: 07.07.2021.. 7 pound 14oz.”
Meanwhile Dean also couldn’t help but joke about his youthful looks and continued: “Just to thank everyone in advance, I know I don't look old enough to be a father let alone a grandfather”.
And while Dean has clearly taken to his role as a doting grandfather, the actor previously joked aboutasking fellow EastEnders star Danny Dyer for tips after his daughter Dani Dyer gave birth to her first child in January 2021.
Speaking toThe Sun on Sunday in July 2021 Dean said: “The only person I know who’s in the same boat as me is Danny Dyer, who has a grandchild at 43.”
He added: “I’ll be calling him for tips. We could do grandaddy day care together.”
