Danielle Armstrong says Orla Mae is ‘a daddy’s girl’ as star moans about doing the ‘hard parts’ of parenting

June 1, 2020

Danielle Armstrong has returned to social media to give her fans a little update on how her newborn daughter Orla Mae is doing since her birth last Tuesday.

The 32 year old took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to tell her 1.3million followers that her little bundle of joy, who she shares with fiancé Tom Edney, is a "daddy's girl".

The former The Only Way Is Essex star shared a series of clips where she could be seen dressed in a pair of striped blue pyjamas as she said: "Hello my lovelies, I thought I'd get on my Insta because I've been very quiet the last few days, adapting to my new role."

She then turned the camera around to face her other half, who could be seen lying down on their striped grey and white couch.

Tom wore nothing but a pair grey shorts as his little bundle of joy lay on his chest, listening to his heartbeat as he stroked her back.

Danielle, who took Orla Mae home just hours after giving birth to her last week, continued: "Obviously she's in her favourite place, like she always is, with her daddy because she's such a daddy's girl."

The star then moaned about having to do all the hard work while her significant other gets to enjoy the "nice parts" of being a parent.

She went on: "I have to do all the hard parts, winding her, you just get the nice parts when she just wants to relax and be cute."

Changing the subject, she said: "Anyway, can we please appreciate that Tom has got 68,000 followers," before Tom interjected by saying: "68,100 actually."

Danielle, who recently revealed she was worried people wouldn't like her child's name, then asked him: "Are you going to start doing teeth whitening paid posts?" to which he sarcastically responded: "Yeah, might do a bit of fake tan next week."

Giving Tom a little encouragement behind his newfound online following, the doting mum said: "Maybe you could do a daddy's blog on your Insta, keeping all the dad's up to date with what to do."

Unimpressed, he quipped: "I'm not exactly some baby whisperer am I? I've only been a dad for six days. All she does is sleep."

In shock that it's already almost been a week, Danielle added: "Can you believe it's a week tomorrow? This time last week oh… We still haven't discussed the labour, we'll just do it another time. It's too long on here."

The TV personality ended her stories by showing fans a gorgeous card her friend's mum gave her as well as a memory box, where she hopes to store cards and keepsakes for Orla Mae.

The card featured a photo of Danielle's baby on the front while the box had a lovely sign on top that had Danielle's daughter's name, birth date, birth time, and weight written on it.

The blonde beauty said: "I just want to show you this beautiful card that Sammy's mum brought round to me earlier today. My beautiful Sammy."

Danielle then explained the memory box was inspired by her late friend Sammy. She said: "Sammy used to always do these keepsake boxes and her mum – also very talented – made these cupcakes – Sam definitely took after her mum because this is exactly what I need to put all special little cards that people have given us. Yeah, so cute."
