In view of his 260,000 Instagram followers Dan took part in a Q&A with his followers asking him questions.

One fan asked: “Despite all the current fun, are you looking forward to spending time with your family.”

Dan replied: “Of course… They have been amazing throughout all of this. An expected 3 weeks became 3 months!!!”

The BBC presenter is married to Sarah Walker, with the couple tying the knot in 2001.

However, he recently made the admission that he never danced at their wedding, but plans to wow his wife on their 25th wedding anniversary.

He told The Mirror: “I didn’t dance at my own wedding.

“I did distraction tactics, messing around on the side.

Dan continued: “I loved the idea of dancing but it felt beyond me. I’m 6ft 6in, I’ve always been tall and awkward.

“The easiest way to avoid dancing was to be the joker on the sidelines.”

He explained that for their 25th wedding anniversary he would love for him and his wife to learn a dance together.

Dan recently hit back after a hug backstage with Nadiya led to Strictly curse rumours.

He candidly admitted he needed a hug from someone and Nadiya was the only person he was “allowed” to touch due to Covid restrictions.

Ahead of his performance in the quarter-finals, Dan explained how he had become emotional after remembering his friend, the late Gary Speed on the 10th anniversary of his death.

Addressing the embrace, Dan said: “I just needed to give somebody a hug.

“I needed to release emotionally from everything I’d been bottling up in the week.”

Dan explained due to coronavirus rules he could only turn to Nadiya for comfort.

“There was only one person I was allowed to touch in the entire production that night and that was my partner,” he said.

The star went on to brand rumours of a romance “disappointing”.

“I know these happen every year on Strictly, and there have been instances in the past of the so-called curse, and it’s just telly.

“But it’s just not nice,” he told The Sun.

You can watch the Strictly Come Dancing final this Saturday on BBC One at 7pm.
