Carol Vorderman swaps her luxury £2.6million Bristol home for a £40k campervan as she embarks on a new project to transform vehicle

  • The former Countdown star, 61, recently unveiled her new vehicle on Instagram, with Carol set to embark on a new project to transform her van into stylish motorhome to take on the road 
  • The compact camper is a far cry from the spacious Sloblock Hall home – a cheeky Countdown anagram of ‘B*****ks Hall’ – which she sold last year 
  • The TV star, who still owns a home in Pembrokeshire in Wales, is looking forward to vamping up her van, with Carol previously giving a glimpse of her plans for the van

Carol Vorderman has swapped her luxury £2.6million Bristol home for a £40,000 campervan.

The former Countdown star, 61, recently unveiled her new vehicle on Instagram, with Carol set to embark on a new project to transform her van into stylish motorhome to take on the road. 

The compact camper is a far cry from the spacious Sloblock Hall home – a cheeky Countdown anagram of  ‘B*****ks Hall’ – which she sold last year.

Carol excitedly shared the first glimpse of her MAN TGE van, which can sell up to £46,000, on social media, with the star having set-up the vehicle’s very on Instagram page called Vordersvan. 

Writing alongside snaps, she penned: Van alert… My baby @vordersvan is on her way from @volkstrek with her new wheels…

‘Just look at the raised chassis on that one then….booommmmm…. 

Next stop is Wayne and Jade at @vanlifebuilds to make her glorious for me and my adventures… AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGFHHHHHHH I’M SO EXCITED.

And in new pictures Carol could be seen beaming away in her van, clearly excited about her new purchase.

Dressed in a black padded jacket, Carol flashed a thumbs up as she showed off the van  ahead of its renovation. 

The TV star, who still owns a home in Pembrokeshire in Wales, is looking forward to vamping up her van, with Carol giving a glimpse of her plans last year.

Staying in a customised, Carol showed off the cosy accommodation with luxury details such as a mini log burner, projector and even a roof terrace.

Carol looking for inspiration for her own design, teasing at the time: ‘We are gonna have lots of adventures if you wanna come with me on here.’

The van she stayed in had a cosy double bed with plush furnishings, house plants and airy white panelled walls.  

Other details included a mini log burner to keep warm and a miniature kitchen complete with a gas stove and wooden counter to cook on.

Living the life of luxury, Carol was able to enjoy lavish details such as a projector which screened onto the campervan’s door, a hammock, skylight and even a roof terrace with benches.

Toasty: The presenter made sure she stayed in styled as her accommodation for the evening had a mini log burner to keep warm and a miniature kitchen complete with a gas stove and wooden counter to cook on

Teasing her future designs, the television personality wrote online: ‘Had a lovely time this evening with @vanlifebuilds [heart emoji] getting ideas for my van build. 

‘I DEFINITELY want a wood burner in our van (we are gonna have lots of adventures [smiling emojis] if you wanna come with me on here). 

‘Cool idea from @vanlifebuilds… little projector onto one of the doors.’

Carol also revealed that there was a roof terrace, writing: ‘Bed at the back. Stand on it and climb through the skylight. Benches that fold up and down to sit on the rood… imagine our views from here [thumbs up emoji] clever @vanlifebuilds.’

While the Welsh beauty had the perfect entertaining space with the sizable garden featuring pretty manicured lawns. 

Bidding farewell to the home in December, Carol shared a glimpse inside the mansion on Instagram while encouraging others to watch a throwback Countdown spoof which provided the inspiration for the name Sloblock Hall.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine in 2021, Carol admitted she hopes to one day live in Wales full time.

‘I am a wanderer; I’ve always been a wanderer. I love making homes, but I don’t want to be in them very much,’ she explained.

‘I live between west Wales, a bit of Cardiff and Bristol. I think progressively that will become all Wales. Well, soon. I am Welsh, and I love it. I want to spend much less time in London working – that’s a decision of mine. I’m only doing the things that I want to do.’
