Britney Spears’ longtime friend and manager staged a career intervention for the troubled singer during their recent Mexico getaway – in the hopes of convincing her to finally begin making more music after her 13-year conservatorship came to an end.
The 41-year-old popstar shared plenty of smiling selfies and videos with her close pal Cade Hudson during their vacation, however behind the scenes, a source says that the pair had much more serious conversations about Britney’s future.
According to the insider, Cade, 34 – who has worked with the singer for years – is determined to see Britney ‘get back to what she loves to do’, noting that the former talent agent believes creating new music will help her to ‘get back to herself’.
‘Cade wants to see Britney get back to doing what she loves to do, as she is a talented artist,’ the source told DailyMail.com. ‘He knows that she is still passionate about this.
‘He wanted to have a career intervention and, at the same time, really help her to get back to herself. He told her she cannot throw in the towel yet and he has reminded her of who she really is.’

‘Their time together has been super special and relaxing and has been eye opening for her, to say the least,’ the source added, noting that Cade is ‘one of the only people in the world that Britney trusts’.
‘Working with Britney during her rise to fame has been one of Cade’s proudest accomplishments in life. In the process, she became like family to him,’ the insider shared.
Britney, who went on an ‘indefinite work hiatus’ back in 2019 after wrapping up her Las Vegas residency, has scarcely released any new music in the last seven years, save for a few collaborations – including a surprise 2021 track, Hold Me Closer, with Elton John.
Aside from that hit however, she has not released a new album since Glory in 2016.
During much of her 13-year conservatorship, the singer claims she was forced to adhere to a strict schedule that saw her ‘working seven days a week’, while control over her finances and her medical treatment was placed in the hands of her father Jamie, who served as her conservator for more than a decade.
After the conservatorship was finally ended in November 2021, fans of the pop princess began clamoring for her to release a new album – and now it appears those inside her inner circle are encouraging her to give her supporters what they want.
During her conservatorship, Cade remained one of Britney’s few trusted confidantes, and in 2021, he spoke out to slam rumors that he had played any part in the arrangement that saw Jamie given control over almost every aspect of his daughter’s life.
‘I’ve kept my mouth shut for 12 plus years on Britney,’ he wrote. ‘Enough is enough. After getting thousands of death threats, getting water bottles thrown at my head in bars from bystanders telling me I’m brainwashing her – Britney I’m now speaking up.’
Britney (who is seen performing in 2003) has scarcely released any new music in the past seven years, save for a surprise collaboration with Elton John in 2021
Fans have been clamoring for the singer (seen with Cade and Paris Hilton) to release new music since her conservatorship came to an end in November 2021
He went on to describe her 2007 breakdown – during which she famously shaved her head, then attacked photographers with an umbrella – as being the result of the ‘100 cameras’ that were following her every move at the time.
Cade also said her subsequent ‘never-ending conservatorship’ was ‘sexism at its best.’
He added that he did not speak out earlier in fear of losing his job, as her father controlled every aspect of her life.
That same year, Cade took on the role of Britney’s manager after serving as her agent for over a decade.
This came after Britney’s former manager, Larry Rudolph, departed ways with the singer.
In January, Britney was rumored to have attended Cade’s 36th birthday bash in Santa Monica, California.
After Paris Hilton shared a selfie of the three of them, Britney revealed that it was an old selfie, telling her fans on Instagram, ‘I haven’t been to a bday party in forever!!!’
Britney has been in Mexico with Cade since Tuesday when she shared a photo on Instagram of the two aboard a private jet.
In a video from March 31, Britney and Cade appeared to be having a great time as they danced to Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams 2013 hit Blurred Lines.
Since then, she has been sharing glimpses of their getaway together on her social media.

Sam and Britney tied the knot in June 2022 – and the insider insisted that all is well between the couple despite rumors of marriage trouble
Britney’s husband Sam, 29, has been noticeably absent this trip to Mexico – and after the singer was seen without her wedding ring during the vacation, rumors began circulating that the pair were going through marital troubles.
However a source insisted to DailyMail.com that this was not the case, saying: ‘Sam is working on a project and [Britney] is on a vacation with Cade.’
The couple’s marriage has been under scrutiny as of late. In March, Britney raised eyebrows with a post remembering the good times before her third marriage.
In the video, which showed her and Sam during a trip to Mexico, Britney reflected on being ‘so happy’ in the trip taken prior to their lavish nuptials.
‘Throwback to Mexico… before I got married … so happy and silly here,’ she wrote.
Sam and Britney’s June 2022 was a lavish affair held at the superstar’s home in Thousand Oaks.
It was attended by a slew of A-list stars, such as Paris Hilton, Madonna, Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore.
Britney’s estranged family – including her controversial parents Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears – were reportedly uninvited.
