‘Shaken’ Jeremy Kyle staff ‘hung out to dry’ with no support after show axeMay 15, 2019
Jeremy Kyle staff are said to be miffed at the lack of support they have received following the decision to axe the show.
The 14-year-old ITV programme was cancelled for good after the tragic death of guest Steve Dymond, just days after he failed a lie detector test and got "ripped into" by front-man Jeremy.
Now, staff have told The Sun how they feel they've been "hung out to dry" by show bosses, and offered no aftercare following the traumatic news of Dymond's death.
An insider told the publication: "Some of the staff involved in the production of that specific episode are shaken up by the whole thing.
"They worked with Steve and all of a sudden the tragedy happened and they're left looking for work. They've not had any support either.
"Everyone's a bit confused and some have immediately started applying for other things. The staff have been left out to dry basically."
Steve, 62 – who suffered from depression – took part to prove he hadn't cheated on on-off fiancée Jane Callaghan.
But it backfired when he failed the test, allegedly prompting host Jeremy to 'rip in to him' and Jane to end things for good.
Just says later he was found dead in his rented bedroom surrounded by letters written to loved ones.
According to his landlady Shelly, 55, who made the grim discovery, he was 'sobbing and distraught' when he returned from filming on May 2.
He had also rung his son and detailed how savagely Kyle treated him on the show, and insisted he hadn't cheated.
Mirror Online have contacted ITV for comment.
