Emmerdale’s Cain Dingle arrested for murder after devastating confessionJanuary 15, 2019
Cain Dingle is set for even more troubles as he is arrested for the murder of Joe Tate.
The farmer has been seen in a state of depression and self-loathing after he told his daughter, Debbie, that he killed her fiance on their wedding day.
Of course, those who are keen viewers of the soap know that in actual fact, Graham Foster finished Joe off long after Cain left the scene.
But in a moment of guilt Cain confessed, and since then the village has been in shock as more and more people find out the truth.
Faith Dingle an upset Debbie, after she hears Cain has made a pass at Charity in his upset.
But Faith is floored when Debbie reveals Cain killed Joe.
Later, assuming Matty Barton knows about Joe, Faith accidentally reveals the truth about what has happened to him.
A sickened Matty is desperate for answers and confronts Cain, but reluctantly agrees to keep the secret to protect the Dingles.
However, Matty is barely able to cope with the revelation and hurries away from the farm, but Debbie notices his movements and starts to follow him.
Matty feels for Debbie when she explains it feels like she’s lost both Cain and Joe in one terrible moment.
Soon after, the police arrive and make a beeline for Cain, but when he refuses to go with them they arrest him for Joe’s murder in the middle of The Woolpack, leaving the revellers stunned.
This all comes after Cain makes a pass at Charity in a moment of weakness, which is soon discovered not only by Debbie, but also Moira Barton, his wife.
A grim Moira talks to Aaron Dingle about what happened, as she explains he lost his temper and threw himself at Charity.
Optimistic Aaron reckons they will be able to work things out, but Moira knows she has a big decision to make.
But one question still remains: who called the police?
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm and again at 8pm on Thursdays on ITV.
