Bodyguard’s Richard Madden to reprise role as David Budd

Actor Richard Madden is set to reprise his role as David Budd in BBC drama series Bodyguard.

The highly acclaimed thriller will be returning to screens for a Comic Relief special.

A cheeky new photo of the 32-year-old star shows him appearing to protect the red nose.

Unfortunately, rather than a proper episode it looks like it will be a sketch for Red Nose Day 2019.

The show followed war veteran David who was assigned as a bodyguard to Home Secretary Julia Montague.

It received rave reviews and record ratings, but a second series has not yet been confirmed for the Golden Globe-winning series.

However creator Jed Mercurio confirmed in September 2018 that he was "just beginning" talks with the BBC about another series.
