Luke Shaw to stay at Manchester United as he takes £2.8m mansion off market following Mourinho's sackingJanuary 7, 2019
The 23-year-old had put his £2.8 million home in Hale Barns, Cheshire, on the market – despite recently signing a five-year deal at Old Trafford.
But following the Portuguese’s departure last month, the England ace and his girlfriend Anouska Santos have withdrawn it from sale, proving he is determined to make a go of it in the north west.
A source said: “It’s a beautiful home and attracted a lot of interest from potential buyers.
“It’s always unsettling trying to sell a home and a few neighbours were surprised that Luke had put it up for sale and thought it indicated he wasn’t as happy at Old Trafford as he had claimed.
“But now Mourinho has left and been replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it’s no longer for sale.”
After Mourinho was sacked, the former Southampton player thanked him for “what he did for the club and for me as a person and a player".
But the £190,000-a-week star has since paid tribute to Solskjaer for changing the mood at Old Trafford.
He said: "Ole has a completely different style to his way and we are adapting to that and enjoying it and that's the main thing.
"There's a great buzz around the place with Ole coming back in, there's a lot of good things to look forward to.
"Ole is a really positive and friendly guy and knows this club really well as he was here for many years and he knows what the club needs.
"He is here for six months and it's a massive thing for him to do an amazing job and that would be great for him.
"We all back him and want the best for him as much as he wants the best for us.
"We all have to work together and keep doing the right things and keep smiles on faces and keep winning matches."
